the pursuit of you part 4: shes all heart and a soul full of roses

She’s all heart and a soul full of roses.

She comes in the room like a whirlwind,

Commanding the place like a storm,

A storm I wish to be weathered next to in the end,

The earth quakes beneath her praise, perfect form.

Carefully crafted by the potter's hands,

Wonderfully and fearfully made of roses and in control.

She's got heart even in the midst of sinking sands; she stands,

She's more than body, she's heart, heat, fire, and soul.

Psalm 139:14 (ESV)
“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.”

Isaiah 64:8 (KJV)
“But now, O Lord, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.”

the pursuit of you part 3: she shall be called woman

She shall be called a woman

My breath caught when she stepped into the room, wedding gown filling the space,

I had no words, and my heart began to race.

Heart pounding in my chest,

I am undone, yet anchored in her care.

She's bold and big in personality and beautiful of spirit; none can compare.

From the stride of grace when she walks, to the joy in her laughter.

She is unafraid and unapologetically herself,

I'd never ask her to change, like so many do, and lose themselves.

But you see, she is much more than just a vision to see,

She's a God-fearing woman, a precious soul to seek.

Her scars do not hinder me,

They simply tell her beautiful story.

She is unhidden where the world demands performance.

She follows a rhythm of truth, and I am changed by it.

She walked in, and I knew a storm was coming,

From henceforth, she shall be called…woman. My wife.

Genesis 2:23 (KJV)
“And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman…”

Proverbs 31:30 (ESV)
“Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”

the pursuit of you part 2: if you told me to wait again i would

If you told me to wait again, I would

Lord, I've cried and cried, barely holding onto patience,

For a bride of my own, one to love, to cherish, and to hold,

Finally ive found her whom my heart loves under your guidance, I've obeyed and followed your direction, done all I was told.

Years have I waited, searched, but could not find,

A woman worth more than rubies, and gold, and silver that does not last.

A woman, my heart would be safe in her hands, and hers in mine.

Till the day you brought her to me, and I had a companion all of my own at last.

But Lord, if it were all gone tomorrow,

Praise would still be yours, with all I could,

Your plans for me are good, so I would not weep for sorrow,

But worship on my lips, if you told me to wait again, I would.

Lamentations 3:25 (ESV)
“The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.”

Psalm 37:7 (KJV)
“Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way…”

Ceasefire, the surrender

I watched you with just as much nerves as I'm sure you were feeling. It's the day of our wedding.

The anticipation, far greater than any battle I've ever fought,

This battle is different, of two hearts becoming one, a joining,

Spirit speaking to spirit, greater love has no one ever sought.

My heart reached for yours, outstretched wide and open to your call,

I want this just as much as you, my darling,

Invite you into the treasures of my soul, you outshine them all.

A heavy burden indeed, to love you as Christ loves the church, a High Calling.

I've been made fit for the task by dying to self daily,

Choosing the Lord time and time again, each day.

This prince has made himself ready,

I join you each time to kneel and pray,

I want you to know, I understand,

You belong to the  King first and foremost.

You’re His before I'm ever your man,

To be joined to me before all the heavenly host.

I see it in your eyes, you also understand me,

I'm his son first before I am a husband to you,

He cares for my heart too, for He takes care to protect even me,

He's taken great care to prepare me for you.

We stand before a great cloud of witnesses,

A man shall leave father and mother and cleave unto his wife,

And truly i will rejoice in the wife of my youth, singing praises,

To the God who has given us such a wonderful and new life.

Let us both sing, amen.

Ephesians 5:25 (KJV)
“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.”

Genesis 2:24 (ESV)
“Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.”

Divine Devotion season 1: episode 1: love introduction

 Love,

We all desire it.

Love,

We all need it.

Love,

We all seek it out but dont know where to truly start.

Love,

What is it?

Love,

What are the different types?

Love,

What's its highest form?

These kinds of questions will be answered following the next few thursdays. For today we will first define what love is briefly.

God Himself IS love. 1 John 4:8, 16

So then, Love is a person.

Also The fruit of the Spirit is love. Love to God, and love to neighbor as ourselves.

Love is patient, and is kind, and ultimately love never fails. 1 Corinthians 13:4-12

So then also is love character and virtue.

Thirdly, love is action not merely just a feeling.

For God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten Son. John 3:16.

Jesus Himself was said to be moved with compassion, prompting action following it. Matthew 14:14.

We are not only to receive Gods love, but to also respond to it. Take, recieve and give unto others freely. This is our command, our Great commission: to share the love of Christ to the world.

The goodnews is founded on love, specifically Gods love to mankind. It is oft said, the bible is also Gods love letter to us.

How true this is when we read it in its entirety, in proper context and in light of the revelation of Christ.

Before we end today's devotion, meditate on this list of the different types of love, we will go over each individually the next several thursdays for season 1.

Agape, Romans 5:8

Phileo, John 11:5

Eros, Song of Solomon (6:3)

Storge, Romans 12:10

Hesed, Exodus 34:6

Racham, Isaiah 66:13

I have intentionally not defined them, but left that for you to do some research before I define them next week.

God bless you and ill see you next week.

While i wait final part, part 8: i am unashamed of the garden of her life

I am not ashamed of the garden. (man's perspective)

I am not ashamed,

of the garden God planted across the story of her life,

From her scars, the darkness of her skin.

I’m just grateful

to be allowed beside her.

Near her valley lows and mountain highs.

I am there to catch her and hold her through it all.

My hands handle with care,

No caution but praise,

She is the wife of my soul,

And

my spirit.

I cry, not for sorrow but for joy.

There’s a prayer on my lips,

poured out loud,

always near to her heart.

Her scars tell a story of a once-hurt woman now healed and redeemed.

She falls to her knees and praises God.

Then rises with me, hands clasped.

A queen in her own right, one I am honored to stand beside.

And I have never wanted anything

more than I want to be beside

her.

Here.

Now.

Her scars never bothered me;

They summoned me. Humbled me. Called me forth.

I want her beauty,

her ugly,

her fire and her ash.

I want the holy hush

after her praise.

And I want to wake up,

To the woman, she is

long after the mask

Has fallen. And still choosing her.

Inhale.

A Selah.

Exhale.

Amen.

● Genesis 1:31 – 'Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very

good.'

● Isaiah 61:3 – 'To give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of

praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the

planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.'

While i wait part 7: in the eyes of my husband

In the eyes of my king, my husband, my covering

Then,

Too small in stature,

Too reserved,

Too quiet a spirit,

Not enough.

Now,

Too large in presence,

Too proudly black,

Too honest,

Too loud in spirit,

Too much.

But in his eyes?

I'm everything he prayed for.

Sturdy enough to stand beside him,

Soft enough for him to trust his heart to.

This time? It's not just about me; it's his turn to be treated like the king he is.

The invitation is to be spirit to spirit.

a soul meets soul,

And they worship God together.

Second to God, he's my everything.

The one my heart calls out to,

The one I've dreamed of as a child.

This man, my husband, my covering,

His heart is safe with me. Forever..

● Ephesians 5:25 – 'Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and

gave Himself for her.'

● Proverbs 18:22 – 'He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the

Lord.'
