while i wait part 6: song of songs revisit

Song of Songs a revisit

Our hearts met at dawn, held in holy halo.

Rising early for reverence.

We move as one in our praise.

Turn down the lights; this isn’t a performance, but a whispered prayer.

He met me halfway, giving in equal measure.

Praying before hands ever touched, so softly.

Squeezing my hand, to love not possess,

Rubbing his fingers across my knuckles to ground me.

Me? I’m gentler now, before the day can weigh me,

I offer you sweetness, not disguise.

The softened step within my strength,

I come to you bearing soul this early morning.

Now? We pray.

A husband, a wife, a man, a woman.

Two kindred spirits,

ordained souls from the beginning of time.

Each lovingly crafted by the Potter's clever hand,

She aims to set fire,

Watch the arrow of love, finally land,

This is a tale of a unified couple, finally realized.

A small prayer, for God to bless and grant our supplication.

And eyes wide in wonder,

Truly, they both now understand Adams awe,

Bone of my bone, flesh of my flesh, unified unit.

● Song of Solomon 8:6 – 'Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm; for

love is as strong as death.'

● Ephesians 5:31-32 – 'For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be

joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.'

While i wait part 5: queen bee

Queen bee

Oh yes, it's me again, come see,

Here to shake the world, baby,

There's only room for one queen bee,

And I'm the blueprint, not a copy.

I dance to the beat of my own drum.

You're shook, you've been thunderstruck.

A vagabond on the run,

Not from something but to something better,

ordained, not luck.

Alright, I'll slow it down a bit,

put the brakes on down for ya.'

From a boil to a simmer,

 How you figure,

That anyone can be like me, a redeemed sinner.

Christ took away the shame,

A reclaiming of self now is the cause.

And yes, sista got sass in personality. This is no game.

Here comes the applause,

Positivity chant,

Never tell a woman redeemed that she can't.

● Judges 4:9 – 'So she said, “I will surely go with you; nevertheless, there will be no glory

for you in the journey you are taking, for the Lord will sell Sisera into the hand of a

woman.”'

● Micah 6:8 – 'He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of

You but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?'

not about pride, but humility and strength of character again. knowing who you are in Christ.

while i wait part 4: more than a body

She's more than a body.

Watch me walk, watch me stand,

I'm not at all ashamed, it's promise, not chance.

A little praise stomp makes the earth shake,

Ya girls' holy hollers of praise in battle bring the earthquake.

Body crafted reverently with grace and care,

Love and kindness in her stare.

Brown skin, blessed by the sun.

I make others give pause at a confident woman who doesn't run.

I ain't sorry,

That I'm much more than a body ody ody, baby!

● 1 Samuel 16:7 – 'Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.' ● Psalm 139:14 – 'I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.'

Man may look on the outside, God is more concerned with the heart, its the character of a soul that brings honor.

While i wait part 3: woman that is me

Woman, that is me

I'm not the norm,
Not a gentle storm,

I walk like thunder,
My presence fills the room,
no hinder.

I'm a bright light in a dark world, you see?
The grace on my lips,
The jiggle of my laughter,
The tremble of praise on my breath.

My joy shines bright when I walk,
No apologies, let them talk.

My soul doesn't whisper,
She roars louder.

Hearty appetite for the holy, and even bigger heart,
My inner being a work of art.

I make no apologies,
And you ask for none.
I fall on my knees before the king, coming undone in prayer.

War marks on my skin,
I trace them in wonder and grin.

Dark skin kissed, scorched by fire like burnt bronze,
Shine in the daylight.

A laugh, loud and free,
Unmistakably ME..

You prayed for this, the honesty, the reverence for our king, the soft heart and gentle spirit. Something you've never known you needed.

I dream of a love so pure.
Of a man's unhesitant hands, strong and sure, taking mine.

Him slowly exploring the depths of my soul, not my body.
No shame in being ourselves, he thinks I'm an odyssey.

He'd like my laugh, and the smile upon my lip,
He'd long to drink my laughter in, take a savory sip.

He can look beyond just what the eyes can see,
He'd look deep into my eyes, and yes, considering my imperfections and still see the worth in me.

Walk with me, boy, and watch this.
My life is a garden inviting you in, I am a woman holy, redeemed.

He wouldn't shrink that I wasn't made to be dimmed.
Not meant for my faith to be contained.

I was born open and free,
My confidence says loudly, woman, that is me.

● Proverbs 31:25 – 'Strength and honor are her clothing; She shall rejoice in time to come.' ● Song of Solomon 4:7 – 'You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you.' She More Than the Body ● 1 Samuel 16:7 – 'Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.' ● Psalm 139:14 – 'I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.'

knowing who you are is rooted in Christ, celebrating strength of character over idolizing the body. and still honoring the body as the temple of the Holy Spirit.

while i wait part 2: sacred vow

The sacred vow

Lord, you once whispered that you were to be my husband, for a time, all others are just brothers. I ignored it. Assumed I heard incorrectly.

Surely this was not the path you carved out for me. This isn't what I meant when I asked you and prayed for a man.

Words instead of touch. Presence instead of a kiss. And an anticipation that grows, like something greater is coming…soon, where we meet face to face.

I asked for a king, but you showed me You ARE my king. I made idols of false gods. You showed me that what my heart craved for was YOU all along.

You gifted me this heart to live loved and love well. You first, then others like me.

You anointed these hands to be a balm to the weary soul, and maybe plant a seed that will grow to make them whole.

I see the world with the Spirit. I don't see flesh and bone but something holy. Something Sacred. Something too beautiful for words, but I'll try anyway.

I take now this vow…

To worship only you,

To love you first, most, to trust, keep the faith.

Even if my life doesn't unfold how I imagined. And love you still, even if it does. If this is just a season to show me how a man should love me, if I'm blessed with one.

I come to you not as a sister, nun, or in a convent; that's not my calling, bless them, but I do bring my heart, tattered, beaten, and battered as it is. I vow to always, always choose you first. Forever and always.

I said I was ready for love. But love already found me. I lay to rest the girl I used to be, and finally embrace…. arriving. I blossomed without a man on my arm; I will continue to shine whether or not a babe was born of me. It's not giving up, it's prioritizing. First things first, and all else shall be added to me.

I won't wish for mythical tomorrows, and unsure “one days”. I won't dwell on regretted yesterdays and “could have beens” either. I'm choosing instead to stay rooted in today. I'm choosing now…to stay.

Thank You, Father, your daughter is listening. Amen

*Author's note: The “Him” responses in this book are not presented as new revelation, prophecy, or additions to Holy Scripture.

They are poetic meditations—an imaginative, prayerful response drawn from the character of God as revealed in Scripture. These words are meant to echo biblical truth, not replace or expand it.

All authority belongs to the written Word of God. Where God speaks definitively, He has already spoken in Scripture.

This work is offered as a devotional reflection, written from a human perspective responding to God’s revealed promises, not as divine speech itself.

● Hosea 2:19 – 'I will betroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me in

righteousness and justice, in lovingkindness and mercy.'

● Matthew 22:37 – 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul,

and with all your mind.'

when we surrender our life to God, its not giving up on hopes and dreams, but trusting the one that knows better than us and knows whats best for us. Delight yourself in the Lord and He shall give you the desires of your heart. *even if they may or may not look the way we wanted them to.

Part 1: Poem 1: the showdown, love come down

The Showdown, Love Come Down

I walk slow,
Nothing could prepare me for this day.
awestruck wonder, neither of us knows what to say,
Just know that now, finally," I belong to you”, as we say I do.

You stand tall before me.
Your heart is ready to be,
Your soul cries, I belong to thee.
Come closer and, with open eyes, see.

It's not just a wedding of husband and wife,
Trust not strife,
But a baring of soul,
A holy union is the goal.

I placed the ring onto your finger on your hand.
Heaven leaned in,
You exhaled praise,
and prayer.

And that's when I felt it,
The shift in the room, the Holy Spirit Presence,
And all of heaven is a witness. of the marriage of man and woman.

Do I want you? You ask softly.
Yes, but only in the covenant, I whisper back gently.
So there we stood before God, no longer as two but one in soul and spirit.
We were prepared for this.

Please do remember, I'm HIS woman before I'm ever your girl,

HIS daughter, before I am to be a wife and mother in this world.

You say you understand,
You just want to be a worthy man, my man.
And that you are a prince, a son to the king, first, before my husband.

I smile in knowing and say, I understand.
This is the final showdown, love came down,
Heaven approved, with God's stamp sealed.

● Genesis 2:24 – 'Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his
wife, and they shall become one flesh.'
● Song of Solomon 2:16 – 'My beloved is mine, and I am his.'
